Morrocan Hair Oil....bye bye frizz

I was thinking about getting a Brazilian blow dry recently until my lovely hairdresser put me on to this product, my hair is quite fine but curly so I have to painstakingly blow dry and straighten to have a good hair day and use about 4 products which can end up making my hair a bit limp!

This is amazing stuff it leaves no residue on your hair and is actually a treatment as well so is a double bonus! simply apply to wet hair (only a small drop is needed) and dry, it also reduces hair drying time too. you can use everyday without buildup My hair is much shinier and smoother I'm a very happy girl ;0D

I bought a 100ml bottle for 30 quid but you can buy a smaller one for less, they also do some other fab products too which I will be investing in! great thing about this is it also has the bunny on the side of the bottle which is guaranteed to be animal tested free..yay! I bought mine from Tony and Guy but you can buy online too...

wow loving Daisy Knights jewellery

I really love this girls jewellery collection she is a 23yr old Cotswold's based designer and graduate from St Martins. Her pieces have been seen on the likes of Alexa Chung, Rhianna and Daisy Lowe.

Daisy's style is a fine eclectic mix of skulls, feathers and vintage styled pieces (these are my favourites)

feather drop earrings Lorne

the Lorne collection

studded wrap ring

The collection feature silver and gold pieces ranging from 40-800 pounds and are available to buy online from Net a porter and her own website http://www.daisyknights.com/collections

My best beauty buys this season..

Dermalogica Spot treatment

I suffer from oily combination skin which always results in blackheads or clogged pores and open pores,I have discovered a great product that really combats this Dermalogica Overnight Clearing Gel is an overnight treatment designed to help clear skin congestion and help prevent future breakouts. (great for that time of month when we just know that breakout is inevitable)

It has Vitamin B complex of Niacin amide and Biotin combined with Zinc Gluconate, Yeast Extract, Caffeine and Nordihydroguaiaretic Acid (try saying that when youve had a few) it soothes irritation, inhibits overactive sebaceous gland activity and purifies.
Rosemary and Spiraea extracts inhibit the growth of acnegenic bacteria while stimulating the skin’s natural antimicrobial agents for clearer, healthier skin.

Salicylic Acid sloughs off pore clogging skin cells to inhibit development of further breakouts, while naturally antiseptic Tea Tree Oil assists in skin healing and is a natural astringent. The product Contains no artificial fragrance or color. its a wee bit  pricey at 38.60 though....

However If that's out of your price range I have found a cheaper product also containing Salicylic Acid by Garnier pure range its fantastic too you can really notice the difference in your pores and a fraction of the price (6 pounds) you can pick this up in Boots or Superdrug or online!

Clinique Bottom lash Mascara

What a genius idea i'm sick f fiddling with my mascara brush on my bottom lashes and having to wipe the smudges or pick the excess off..this product promises to define the bottom lashes with an easy application from the smaller agled brush and is anti smuge too!  its only for the bottom lash and recommended that you use the nornal mascara on the top lashes, at 10 pounds its quite reasonably priced.

Max factor easy smokey eye?....(is it that easy??)

I picked up a couple of the Max factor smokey eye crayons a few months ago but didn't get round to using them ( i quite enjoy doing it the conventional way..theres something quite therapeutic about blending and building colour! ) So when i was going through my kit today i decided to give one a whirl, for 7.99 each they are reasonably priced considering you are getting two eye shadows. you can buy online on Boots website.

I used the onyx smoke, One end is rounded and the other more angled for a better contour around the lid. The first thing I noticed is that the texture is very fine (almost creamy) and iridescent, given that I don't think it would be good for older skin as i think it may sit in the creases of the eye, the other problem is that they don't seem to blend that well due to the lack of powder. I like to use 3 or 4 colours for a smokey eye and found this to be a problem as it was hard to graduate the colour using just one dark and one light!

The product claims to give a smokey eye in two steps... applying the lighter colour over lid and under brow then using the darker shade to sweep through the crease of the eye paying particular attention to the corners and waterline on the lower lid.
Realistically yes it does give you a smokey-ish eye but i would prefer to achieve it by the conventional method of brush and powder.(I like a strong dramatic smokey eye so its not for me.) I have compared it to my usual smokey eye products..what do you think?

The photos below are the crayon on its own (more softer natural looking) and the Mac products ) much bolder)

In the Mac look i used, brown paint pot as a base/ MAC Carbon eye shadow/ Mac claire de lune to highlight and my favourte Mac loose pigment in the corners of the eye and underneath the lower lash. I then blended a black kohl eye pencil to contour the eye and give it a funky twist.

Smokey eye with Mac products

smokey eye with Max Factor

You cannot achieve a strong eye with the crayon alone in my opinion so i wont be using it again.. Its OK for a light daytime eye but not for a "dramatic" smokey as  advertised.

Mac & Milk Fall/Winter 2011...oooooohhhh

Loving this falls 2011 look from M.A.C I'm a sucker for a smokey eye and pale skin...So I'm overjoyed to see to see the new palette because I'm channeling my inner Kristen  Stewart. no more tanning for me its taken its toll on my skin!. Most of the most beautiful icons were pale skinned.
I especially love the the feathers in the hair with plated buns...Pocahontas meets gossip girl lol..and a dark nail is my thing too..goth is hot.

I'm Not sure how this look translates to everyday though, you could end up looking a bit anemic if you get it wrong its very editorial and romantic for everyday wear. you can take elements from it and make it your own a little blush wouldlighten the look and make it more wearable.

This look definitely emanates winter with the light hair and eyebrows ....along with the warm Autumn colours

Love these look books its a perfect way to inspire the artists and show the look and theme of the show!

Women who Inspire my Style and Make up...

Every time I see these women in a magazine or on the TV i just think they always look flawless and original..These women can roll out of bed throw on a bit of lipstick and sunglasses and still look like an Icon and rock it.

I really appreciate women who are not afraid to take risks and are defined by who they are and not by what they do. Beauty and sex appeal for me is not what you wear or being tacky and over the top.. its about a swagger you just have when you are comfortable with yourself and know what you like and suits you. These women have that for me they just oooze coolness and femininity without being a stereotypical celebrity. They seem to balance life, family with fashion, style and culture effortlessly.

Dit Von teese
This Woman just encapsulates the whole glamorous and sexy spirit of women that is long forgotten, being a lady with class can still be sexy. she once said she never felt beautiful but knew she could be glamorous and boy does she pull that off!

Gwen Stefani

I'm a massive fan of her music but also the fact that she can be a mum of two and still be at the forefront of fashion (OK so shes got millions) but money does not buy style (Paris Hilton comes to mind)..she just has the Midas touch with everything she does clothing, music, perfume range and childrenswear and her look is so individual.

Marilyn Monroe

Well Marilyn was and still is the epitome of femininity and style, she lived her life by her own rules and despite what people thought of her she wasn't afraid to make mistakes and take risks. Its sad that she never got to fulfill her life on the lens but will be forever a legend.

Jean Shrimpton

Some people will not be familiar with Jean but she was massive in the 60s her and Terrance Stamp were the David and Victoria of their time, model and actress she constantly pushed the boundaries of fashion in a time when women were just beginning to break free from conforming to societies opinion of what a women should be. She was once described as the "most beautiful face" and was instrumental in the launch of the mini skirt..(ay men to that! )

Megan Fox

Alot of people don't like her but I just think she so pretty and she seems like she really doesn't care what people think of her (love that)..I really like her style and tattoo's and just think shes an all round beauty she makes me want to grow my hair and dye it black..unfortunately i don't have her face to match.
